Brandy Archer, Ed.D. is the content area literacy consultant for the Curriculum and Instruction unit in the Office of Education and Improvement and Innovation at the Michigan Department of Education. Her current work includes Intentional Instructional Practice in early literacy and mathematics. In addition, she supports closing the achievement gap by providing academic and climate and culture support through cultural proficiency training for the African American Young Men of Promise Initiative. Brandy holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Lamar University, a master’s in curriculum & teaching from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Michigan State University.
